OK, I try to be free with ideas and to freely acknowledge when I’ve been, erm, inspired by other people’s ideas. But this idea is so great I almost want to keep it a secret and steal it. Lacking a rooftop, an Airstream, and the necessary mechanical equipment to place the latter on top of the former, though, I may as well just show you what someone else thought of:
OK, the style is not that great (something about that patio umbrella just doesn’t fit), but still: Airstream penthouses! (More views here.) That would be so perfect on a big factory roof in Brooklyn looking out over the East River to the Manhattan skyline with a nice meadow of a green roof. Has anyone in North America done this yet?
